"And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect" (Gen. 17:1 KJV).

The Word of God said that Abraham was blessing in "all things." When you say "all things," that leaves nothing out. One of those things is his physical blessing. We find that Abraham was blessed with good health, long life, and protection in battle.

God comes to Abraham and tells him that he will have a child. Now if Abraham was sickly, then he would have said something about that to God. But his only reservation was that he was old, and Sarah was old.

Physical health was not the issue. The issue was physical pleasure, and the ability of these two old bodies to produce a child. Abraham was healthy physically.

Abraham was protected in battle. We read in Genesis 14 that he had to go to war with some kings that had taken Lot captive when Sodom and Gomorrah was taken. He gathered his army, which consisted of those of his own house, went and defeated that army.

He not only brought back Lot, but he brought back all the goods of that defeated army. Coming out victorious after fighting against superior odds is evident that God has blessed you.

Finally, Abraham lived to be 145 years old. Genesis 25:8 says that Abraham "...died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years...." He was blessed with good health and long life.

It is one thing to live long. But to live long and in good health is a great blessing from God. He could still see very well. He recognized his people. He had a good mind, and was a happy man.

A Blessed Body
I have news for you. Not only was physical blessing a part of Abraham's blessing, but it is for you as well. Jesus is your Lord and He is your healer. He heals your body from the crown of your head to the souls of your feet.

You do not have to be afraid in your neighborhood, because God has placed a shield of protection around you and sealed it in the blood of Jesus. And the physical blessing of long life is yours.

How can that be? It is so because "if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

For further study, be sure to reference 1 Peter 2:24 and Psalm 91.
