Have you ever heard the adage “He may not come when you want Him, but He is always on time?” I have. I am sure at some point these words caused me to throw away my confidence in God’s Word. The adage is very contrary; God's Word ensures us God is with us at all times. Here are a few scriptures to consider:
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Josh. 1:9)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Heb. 13:5)

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. (Deut. 31:8)

And teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matt. 28:20)
He is always with us. The Word says in John 6:63, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." And Jeremiah 33:3 says, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." There are many more scriptures to support this truth to know our Heavenly Father hears us.

Be confident in the truth. Our Heavenly Father hears us. Commit these passages of scripture to memory and hide them in your heart. Many people in the world will try to convince you otherwise. They will say God is not with you and He does not always hear you. Once you accept the lie, your confidence will diminish and believing becomes challenging. Once believing becomes a challenge, receiving becomes problematic. All things are possible for the believer (Mark 9:23).
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
(1 John 5:14-15)
Exercise Your Confidence
In your journal or notebook, write out your own confession or prayer. Put your confidence in Him and His Word above every tradition, past experience, and anything you may have heard from other clichés or adages that are contrary to God’s Word.

For example: I have heard: He may not come when you want Him, but He’s always on time.

The Word: He is always with me. Joshua 1:9, Deuteronomy 31:8, Matthew 28:20, Hebrews 13:5

The Prayer: Thank you Father for being there even when I did not acknowledge Your presence.
