Did you know the language you speak can absolutely determine your lot in life? What you say and how you say it can cause doors of opportunity to swing wide open or it can cause those same doors to slam shut.

You know that's true as well as I do. Right here in the United States there are people who are limited by their use of poor grammar and inappropriate words. There are jobs they can't have and social connections they never enjoy simply because of the language they speak.

The same is true in other nations, too. I read recently of a place in Africa where most of the people speak Swahili and I found out that the people there who learned to speak English prospered far beyond those who did not. The English language opened a door to a whole new world for them!

I'm sure that comes as no surprise to you. But here's something that just might: Did you know there's a spiritual language that will do the very same thing for you? Did you know there's a language you can use as a believer that will open up a whole new world?

It's called the language of redemption!

That's the language faith speaks. Jesus described that language in Mark 11: 22-23 when He said to His disciples:
Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Many times when we read those verses we focus on the fact that we must believe and not doubt. But if you'll examine them carefully, you'll see that Jesus mentioned believing only once and He talked about saying three times! That means you have to do more talking than you do believing.

"I don't know about that, Sister Lynne," somebody might say. "I don't talk much about what I believe. I just have a quiet faith."

No you don't. If you're not saying what you believe, you don't have faith at all. I know that for a fact because the Bible says the spirit of faith speaks!

Read 2 Corinthians 4:13 and you can see that for yourself. There the apostle Paul says, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak."

Speak It Like a Native
The problem with some folks is that they want God to do something before they speak. When the hand of God moves or when the power of God falls, they'll declare it's been done. But that's not how God works. His voice always precedes His hand. Throughout the Bible, He spoke something and then He did it.

In Genesis 1, God said and then something came into being. He said, "Light be!" and light was. In the book of Acts, when God wanted to pour out His Spirit on the Gentiles, He sent Peter to speak to those who gathered at Cornelius' house. And the Bible tells us that "While Peter yet spake the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word" (Acts 10: 44).

One of the greatest ministers of God I know tells how the Lord taught him about this principle years ago. He'd been crying to God about his finances, telling Him how big his bills were and how bad his situation was. "Oh, God," he said, "I need a miracle."

At that moment, the Lord spoke to him and said, "Don't ever pray that way about money again because the money you need is not up in heaven. And I am not going to print any money and send it down to you because I am not a counterfeiter.

"That money is in the earth and in the name of Jesus you have authority to command it to come to you. Never talk lack because it keeps money from coming to you. The more you whine and complain about what you don't have, the deeper in need you will get.

"So just command the money to come. Then tell Satan to take his hands off your money and tell the angels to go and cause your money to come to you. Then just praise and thank Me for it."

Do you see what God was teaching that minister? He was teaching him to speak the language of redemption where finances are concerned.

"Well, I tried talking like that and it didn't work for me."

That's because you just tried it. You said a few words of faith and then went right back to your old way of speaking. If you really want the language of redemption to start opening doors for you, you have to become fluent in it.

You have to put it in your heart and then speak it out your mouth put it in your heart then speak it out your mouth again and again until it becomes your primary language. You keep on talking the language of redemption until you speak it like a native.

Spiritually, it is your native language, you know. If you're a born again child of God, you're not a citizen of this sickness-plagued, lack-infected, defeat-ridden world. You're a citizen of heaven. You are, as Ephesians 2:19 says, "fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God."

Do you think they're talking doubt and lack and sickness in heaven? Do you think they're moaning and groaning about how terrible things are? Most certainly not!

They're rejoicing over their heavenly supply. They're talking about the abundance and the blessings of God. They are speaking the language of redemption.

That's wonderful, you may be thinking, but I'm not in heaven yet. I'm still living here on the earth.

I know it. But, according to Romans 8:17, you are just as much an heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus here on earth as you will be when you get to heaven. That means you have access here and now to everything Jesus has.

He bought with His blood everything you could ever need or want. He bought your deliverance. He bought your healing. He became poor so you could become rich. He was crucified, buried and resurrected so you could have the same quality of abundant life that He has.

Some Christians have a hard time believing that. They come to church and sit with their arms folded and a frown on their face like they're at a funeral because they don't understand how good their heavenly Father really is. They don't know what they've inherited from Him.

If you're one of those Christians, dig into the New Testament and find out what's yours in Christ Jesus. Let God show you just how good He is.

I'm telling you, God loves His children and He loves to give good gifts to them. (See Matthew 7:11.) I'm a parent myself and I love to bless my children. I have a continual desire to give them good gifts.

But my ability is limited. I can only do for them as much as my current resources allow. But God has unlimited resources!

Think about that. Our heavenly Father has an unlimited desire to bless us and unlimited resources with which to do it.

God is wanting to do something good for you right now. If you'll give Him the slightest opportunity, He'll jump on it. He will find a way to bless you because He is a good Daddy. He's not an abusive Daddy. He's not a neglectful Daddy. He is good!
