Whatever circumstances you may be encountering today, know that the Heavenly Father cares about you.
It is so important that we start our day with the right kind of words. Psalm 118:24 gives us the right kind of words to say: "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

What a good idea to start each day saying what the Bible says!

Some people may naturally enjoy getting up early and watching the sunrise. Not me. I am not a morning person. I prefer the night rather than the morning. In fact, my energy level increases around midnight!

Therefore I would prefer to say, "Oh, it's morning. I will not rejoice and be glad in it." But I have discovered the value of speaking the right kind of words when I arise.

Even before my feet hit the floor, I start saying, "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it." A lot can happen between the time you sit up in bed and when your feet hit the floor!

For example, one morning when I first awoke, I put my foot down on the floor not realizing that my foot was asleep. My foot collapsed beneath me, and I twisted my ankle severely.

As I was lying on the floor, gripped with pain, it wasn't an easy thing to say, "This is the day the Lord has made." But as I began to quote that scripture, strength rose up on the inside of me. I was able to recover from the pain, get up, and perform my tasks for the day.

By our words, we can choose to have a good day or a bad day. Our world is created by the words we speak. I encourage you to start your day by boldly making your confessions of faith.

Each day I ask the Lord for wisdom. When I do, I am reminded of what the Word says in the book of James,
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
(James 1:5)
I have found that as I ask for wisdom, the Lord helps me in making major decisions as well as daily minor decisions. I have often seen people stress over making decisions. I simply tell them that if they would ask the Lord for wisdom, decisions could be made more quickly. The Word says that we have not because we ask not (James 4:2).

The Lord is always ready to assist us in anything that we need. Yet, it seems we neglect to ask of Him until we have exhausted every other avenue. Why not try going to the Lord first? We will find that we will save a lot of time and effort.

Another thing that I ask for daily is strength. Isaiah 40:31 tells us, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

As I wait upon the Lord and commune with Him, He certainly does renew my strength. People often say to me, "You are so full of energy. What is your secret? What kind of vitamins do you take?"

I tell them, "It's not vitamins. I simply ask the Lord to supply me with an abundance of energy. And He always accommodates me."

The Word says that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10). If I'm getting stressed out, I begin to laugh. I find that as I laugh, my stress disappears and my strength is renewed.

Whatever circumstances you may be encountering today, know that the Heavenly Father cares about you. Your circumstances may look bleak, but those circumstances can be changed when you speak the Word of God.

Choose to have a good day; say you will have a good day; and your good day will become a reality!
