Until we are grateful for what we have, God's not going to bless us with better. Unhappy people always find something to be unhappy about. It all has to do with our decisions, our attitude, and the mentality that we decide to take towards life.

People are always looking for something that they don't have.

• I'll be happy when I have a boyfriend or a girlfriend.
• I'll be happy when I get married.
• I'll be happy when I get divorced.
• I'll be happy when I have kids.
• I'll be happy when they get old enough to go to school.
• I'll be happy when I get that job.
• I'll be happy when I get that promotion.
• I'll be happy when my kids are grown and gone.
• I'll be happy when I get that car.
• I'll be happy when I don't have to pay the note anymore.
• I'll be happy when I get that dream home.
• I'll be happy when I can furnish it.
• I'll be happy when I can pay off the mortgage.
• I'll be happy when I have grandchildren.
• I'll be happy when they go home.
• I'll be happy when I can retire.
• I'll be happy when I can get that motor home and can travel.
• I'll be happy when I can quit traveling.
• I'll be happy when I have something to do. I'm so bored.
• I'll be happy if I weren't so busy.
• I'll be happy when Jesus returns to take me to heaven.

God wants you to be happy with today. He wants you to be happy with your life...not just when something happens.

Did you know happiness is a decision you make? Circumstances and people should not control your joy. Satan may try to get your joy by putting some unhappy person in your life who tries to pull you down or he may try to create some circumstances to steal your joy.

But you have to make a decision. You're not going to let anybody or anything make you unhappy and make your life miserable. It's all up to you.

There was someone recently who was in such a down period, and someone else was able to bless them financially and take some pressure off of them momentarily by making them able to stay in their apartment, keep their car, pay their bills and not lose sleep over all that.

But before the financial blessing was given to them, they were already magnifying other problems that they had. They weren't even thankful for what God had done.

Do you know that you can be happy if you decide to be happy? You've got to be determined to enjoy your life. You've got to be determined to not waste one day of your life being unhappy.

That's not what Jesus went to the cross for. Jesus went to the cross for you that your life might be full and complete until it's overflowing with joy.

We have to be convinced from God's Word that each day we live is a gift that's given by God, and that He doesn't want us to waste one minute of it. For you to get up in the morning, and have a day of depression, sorrow, and not wanting to face the day, then you have wasted the most precious thing that God can give you...time.

John 10:10 says, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

You have to make your mind up everyday when you get up, "I'm going to have a great day. This is going to be a good day. This is going to be the best day that I have ever had."

Don't just wait around to see what kind of day you're going to have. You decide what kind of day you're going to have before you even get out of bed that day.

Get your day started with the Word. Start declaring, "I've got a life, and I'm going to live my life to the fullest, and it's going to be better and better and better. I don't hate my life. I love my life."

If you don't love yourself first, nobody else is going to love you. You are the one who determines whether you're going to be happy or unhappy. Too many people hate their life. "I hate my life. I hate my job. I hate my car. I hate my clothes. I hate my kids. I hate the way I look. I hate, I hate, I hate!" Quit saying all that!

God wants you to love your life.

"Well, Carolyn, if you had my life, you wouldn't love it."

There's only one person living your life, and that's you. And you had better start making some changes right now because it's the only one you've got, and the only one you're going to get until you get to heaven.

I don't know what your situation is, but things are not going to improve in your life until you make a decision, a conscious decision, that as for you and your house things are going to get better.

Every time something bad happens to you, you can choose to be the victim, or you can choose to learn from it. Life is all about choices. Every situation is a choice.

You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or in a bad mood. The bottom line is, it's your choice how you live your life.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says,

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live.
(Deut. 30:19 AMP)

God just revealed His advice to you. Choose life. Right now, you can be enjoying your life while God is working behind the scenes in your behalf.

Did you know that the angels can be at work out there causing your circumstances and your situation to change? The angels can be out there bringing your harvest in right now. The problems can be changed right now.

God's Word is at work if you make a decision to choose life. Make a decision today to be happy.
