I'm retired and would like to know if I can be of assistance to God, or am I too old?

It's wonderful to be able to retire from our secular work. When it comes to working in the kingdom of God, the Bible doesn't mention retirement. God wants all Christians, young or old, to use their gifts in their churches.

You may want to travel more and relax. These things are fine, but you should also ask the Lord what He'd have you to do. I'm sure His will for your later years will agree with you. I'm convinced that the older a person is, the more wisdom and experience they have to offer.

The older men of the Bible were always looked to for advice and wisdom. Moses didn't begin to do great things until he was eighty years of age. You're of more value to God now than you've ever been.

Notice what this section of Scripture declares.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.
(Ps. 92:12-14)
If you love God and live a righteous life, then you should bear fruit or be productive in your old age. You should stay strong and mentally alert. God doesn't want to retire you.

He wants to begin to use you all the more in your old age. I believe the most valuable asset in the church today is our elderly. Find out what the Lord would have you to do and be a blessing.
