There is one great God and Power that hath made the world and all things therein, to Whom you and I and all people owe their being and well-being, and to Whom you and I must one day give an account, for all that we do in the world.
—William Penn

The highest court of the United States is the Supreme Court. It consists of the chief justice and eight associate justices, all appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate. These nine judges decide the legal issues for each case presented to them. Although the system is not perfect, it is the best system in the world.

When you present your case before the judges of this land, they consider all the evidence available to them. They can be swayed or misled by circumstances, faulty documentation, or an attorney's charismatic personality.

Even though they may have years of experience on the bench, they are still human. No matter how wise or insightful, they can make mistakes.

One Universal Judge
In the courtroom of the universe there is but one judge, God Himself, the Righteous Judge. He is the only One wise enough to judge fairly in every circumstance. The Word of God tells us that man looks on the outward appearances—the things that are seen, easily observed, or readily available—but God looks on the heart (see 2 Cor. 10:7).

When we stand before the Righteous Judge there is nothing hidden. There can be no twisting of facts, no spin on the truth, and no circumstantial evidence taken into consideration. He sees the intents of our heart—good or bad.

You might want to do a heart checkup this week. Make sure that nothing is standing between you and God. Then you will not be hindered in any way from completing your mission.

"Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth" (Rom. 8:33).
