In today's society people are fascinated by the supernatural. Harry Potter, Poltergeist, and The Exorcist are just a few movie examples which have caught the attention of many within our society.

At the same time, our children are not immune from this same fascination with the supernatural.

Video and board games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Ouija Boards, and magic tricks are still very popular. We also have television shows such as, "Crossing Over," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "Pokemon," and "Power Rangers." These and other shows portray supernatural events or powers.

Are all these things just fantasy and simple entertainment? Or is there a diabolical evil behind all these things? These are good questions to ask and think about.

The Thief Surely Comes
The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. Jesus came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly.
(John 10:10)
Who is the thief? It is Satan himself—he will deceive you through all kinds of means. Through religion, through fantasy, through objects of play, etc. He is the great trickster, the great deceiver. His ultimate goal is to destroy your life.
…and cast him (Satan) into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nation's no more. Until 1000 years should be fulfilled; and after that he must be loosed a little season.
(Rev. 20:3)
Satan himself has deceived people into thinking that these things will not harm you or anyone else. But everyday we read about more people committing terrible crimes who are caught up in a dangerous devotion of fantasy realms dominated by demons and witchcraft.

Everything God created Satan has counterfeited. There is a supernatural that comes from God and this is the true power of God in demonstration. Look at what Paul said in the book of Corinthians:
…and my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God.
(1 Cor. 2:4-5)
If we do not have the power of God in demonstration in the church, people go to the world to get it; they will go to the occult, or call a psychic for answers. The reason is this: I believe that God created every person, whether they are saved or not, with the inert desire for supernatural things.

God Is The Only Peace
People are searching for something to give them stability and comfort in this wicked world. Because God is supernatural, He is the only one can give peace and stability.

Let's desire the realness of God. Everywhere Jesus went, He flowed in the supernatural power of God. We also must flow in it as well. I tell people all the time that we have the supernatural power of God to back up what we preach in Jesus' name. If you take the supernatural out of the Bible, you just have another book of empty, dead religion. You only have what is natural. And that can't change anyone to any great degree.

Getting Set Free
Just ask the manic depressed person who has been going to counseling for the past 20 years and has not gotten any better but rather has accepted their condition as a mental illness. Only Jesus can set people free and keep them free. It is all done by the supernatural power of God.

Today in the church, God is moving with the supernatural. We can have the realness of God in our lives. Desire God to move in your church and in your life.

In the book of Mark chapter 16 it tells us that we can move in the supernatural power of God. The Lord desires us to flow in the supernatural. It is the equipment for every believer to be able to be a witness for Jesus Christ that He did come in the flesh.

So desire what's real and God will make himself real. Let us strive for the supernatural power of God.
