Many times we hear the same things over and over before it really sinks down into our hearts. Sometimes it takes someone specifically pointing it out to us before it becomes a "revelation" to us.

Recently, as my husband has been ministering on the favor of God, it has caused that revelation to become alive in me again.

I've heard Deuteronomy 28 my whole life, "Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field," and it became just "hum-drum" until I just stopped and really read what that chapter says. I began meditating on it, and now I confess it daily over my life.

Each time I leave my house as I'm driving out of my garage, I picture a sign above my door that says, "I'm highly favored and blessed of the Lord." I'm blessed when I go in the city, and I'm blessed when I come back to the country!

Deuteronomy 28:8 (AMP) says, "The Lord shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouse, and in all that you undertake; and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you." You'll have the favor of God in all that you undertake - even the little things!

Important Instructions
There are so many blessings coming our way according to Deuteronomy 28, but there are very important instructions given to us in the very first verse that we must obey in order to have these blessings.

Listening is a form of communication. You are communicating with the Father when you listen to Him. Listening is defined as "meaning to hear, or pay close attention to." In order to listen to someone, you have to block out all the "noise" around you.

There are two types of noise: external and internal. External noise could be anything from the television, an airplane passing above you, the children crying; anything you can hear with your ears. Internal noise is the noise that occurs in our heads such as thoughts of hunger, thoughts of sleepiness, or the devil trying to occupy our mind.

In order to effectively communicate with the Lord, He must have our undivided attention. In other words, we must block out all other noise that might prevent us from hearing what He is telling us. Some of you might be asking the Lord what His will is for your life, but you never wait for His answer because something else gets your attention.

The verse says to listen diligently. Diligently means careful, steadily attentive, or constant. When you listen diligently, you are very careful that nothing gets your attention away from the voice of God.

For us to be watchful means for us to continually be ready to follow through with what God's Word says. Watchful is defined as meaning to observe closely, to notice carefully, to wait, and to expect.

When you expect to do all His commandments, you are looking forward to obeying His Word. That means that you have no intentions of not obeying the commandments. So, if you are watchful to do all His commandments, then all these blessings will come over you.

Notice what the verse says, "IF" we listen diligently to the voice of the Lord, and "IF" we are watchful to do all His commandments..."the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth, and all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you."

This is so exciting! I encourage you to allow this message to become a revelation to you. Study and meditate on this chapter, follow these steps given to us, and then share in the blessings that God has promised us!
