Many times my schedule is so busy and I like to keep my weekends free. Does it matter if I go to church?

The answer to your question is yes. God designed the local church to meet the needs of His people. He put supernatural gifts and abilities in pastors and other ministers so that they are able to teach and oversee God's people. Notice what the Bible says in these verses:
It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up.
(Eph. 4:11-12)
These verses explain that God gave ministers to equip or prepare God's people to live productive lives. A Christian who does not attend church does not mature spiritually.

A second reason for church attendance deals with blessing fellow believers. According to Romans 12:5-8, there is a gift that is put inside every believer. This gift is to be used to minister to other saints (1 Peter 4:10-11).

God has given all His people special abilities and gifts to be used to bless others. The local church is where God puts believers enabling them to minister to one another's needs. Attending church blesses you and blesses others.
