I'm a Christian and I don't see God moving in my life. Why isn't God moving or active in my life?

I will answer your question from two sections of Scripture. Let's begin with a statement that Jesus made.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened" (Matt. 7:7-8 NIV).

Notice how Jesus put the responsibility for God moving in our lives on us. We know that God is the one that gives when we ask (John 16:23-24). He's also the one that uncovers when we seek (Prov. 2:1-6; 1 Cor. 2:9-10), and He's the one that opens when we knock (Rev. 3:7).

The Bible indicates that we need to release God to move in our lives. If we're not asking, then there will be no giving. If we're not seeking, then there will be no finding. If we're not knocking, then there will be no opening.

Notice another Scripture that agrees with what Jesus said:

"Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8 NIV).

Notice that the Christian is told to come near to God and then God will come near to him. I like to say it this way, "We determine how much of God we have in our lives. The closer we draw to Him, or seek after Him, the closer He comes to us."

If you want to see more of God in your life, begin to ask, seek, and knock. Desire God with all your heart. He will draw near to you and make Himself real to you.
