I'm assuming that you're referring to the lake of fire, which we commonly call hell. The lake of fire was created for the devil and his fallen angel cohorts.
"Then he will say to those on his left, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matt. 25:41). At this time, the devil is not in the fiery place we call hell. Notice when he will be thrown into hell.
When the thousand years are over (thousand year millennium which takes place after Jesus second coming), Satan will be released from his prison.... And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulphur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.Also, notice these revealing Scriptures:

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.The devil won't be thrown into the lake of fire until the end of the thousand year millennium reign of Christ. At this present time, the devil and his cohorts are busy trying to deceive and destroy as many people as possible.
(1 Peter 5:8-9)
And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them all captive to do his will.
