Will this world ever come to an end?

The Bible does declare that this world, as we know it, will come to an end. The very earth that we live on will one day be destroyed by God.

The Bible also declares that God will make a new heaven and a new earth. Those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will dwell in this new heaven and new earth (2 Peter 3:10-14; Rev. 20-22:7).

Let's take a look at Revelation 21:1-5.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had past away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
(Rev. 21:1-5)
He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then He said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

God has appointed a day when this earth and the heavens will pass away. Those of us who trust in Jesus as Lord need not worry concerning this event.

God will wipe away our tears and we will enjoy the beauty and splendor of the new earth. God's purpose for doing this is to give us a new and better world in which to live.
