The Bible says that we need to fear God. But I want you to know it's not the same type of fear that you are used to.

The type of fear that I am talking about is NOT hearing something go BUMP in the middle of the night and being scared. I'm talking about the type of fear that is a reverence to God and as a sign of worship.

The Biblical fear of God (which should have been translated, "reverence") really means giving it all to God and laying it all on the altar.

If you are to reverence God you need to take the things that you think are so stinking important and put them away for a minute and let God take over. When you do that, it will change your life.

You may be asking yourself, what am I doing here on this planet? Who am I doing this for? Why am I even living? Why am I breathing? What is the reason? What is the purpose? What is the plan for my life?

Those answers only come when we reverently "fear" Him. We NEED to worship Him and give our all. I'm telling you that if you leave even just an ounce of anything, (sometimes it's hard to give Him even the smallest places of our hearts) you will open that area for the devil to take over.

The devil is real and he will always try to take us for a ride. There's no limit as to how far he will go. His mission is to kill steal and destroy (John 10:10).

Let me show you something. Go get your Bible and open it to Philippians. Check this out:
...Work out (cultivate, carry out to the goal, and fully complete) your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling (self-distrust, with serious caution, tenderness of conscience, watchfulness against temptation, timidly shrinking from whatever might offend God and discredit the name of Christ).(Phil. 2:12 AMP)
Look at that! It says, "Work out your own salvation with reverence and awe and trembling." We need to fear God, we need to reverence Him; we need to worship Him. We need to give Him everything in our lives.

You know I'll be the first to tell you that my life hasn't been perfect. Far from it! But you know what? I can also tell you that because I make an effort to reverence and fear God and worship Him with my whole heart (like the Bible talks about in Romans 12) I know when I need to stop in my tracks and get my life together again.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
(Rom. 12:1 NIV)
