I don't know what you are facing today. It might be intimidating to you, pushing you around, causing you to lose sleep, or just making you feel anxious.
Do you remember the song, "I'm Bad"? It was a popular song in the 1980's by rapper LL Cool J. He unapologetically boasted about his lyrical ability. Usually when we hear the word, "bad," it has a negative connotation such as a bad dog, bad hair day, bad cold, or bad flight. In this case, LL Cool J was declaring that he was bad, meaning "good." Not only was he bragging about his skills, he was also letting every single rapper in the entire world know that he was the best.

What boldness? Arrogance? Conceit? Not necessarily; he was simply confident in himself and didn't care what anyone else thought, said, or did about it. I heard this song the other day, and it reminded me of Jesus Christ. Now, he's really bad!

If anyone has the right to boast about anything, it's Jesus. Today, I want to remind you of how "bad" our God really is, just in case you forgot. Let's look at his track record:
  • His birth was one of a kind; no one has ever been born to a virgin!
  • The news of His birth intimidated the King of Judea. So he sent out a decree to kill every child under the age of two in Bethlehem
  • At the age of 12, he was in the temple teaching the greatest religious teachers at that time.
  • He lived a perfect life without sin.
  • He accurately predicted His own death and His murderer.
  • He laid down his life (allowed himself to die) and took it back up again (rose from the dead).
  • He is the only way we can see God.
  • He went to Satan's home, kicked down the door, took the keys from his house, and still has them today!
  • He is the only man in heaven.
  • He rose at least two people from the dead (that we know of).
  • In 30 years of living, he did so much that the entire Bible couldn't contain all of it.
  • His death caused an earthquake.
  • 2,000 years later, he is the most popular celebrity of all time (without modern-day technology)
  • His autobiography is the #1 Best Seller every year and is the best-selling book of all time.
I don't know what you are facing today. It might be intimidating to you, pushing you around, causing you to lose sleep, or just making you feel anxious. Take some time to praise God for Jesus. His record is unmatched, and he is the only one who is truly worthy to declare, "I'm bad!" Let Him reign in every area of your life, and boldly declare and meditate on this scripture:
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (Rev. 19:16 NIV)
