For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.
(1 Cor. 6:19 NKJV)
When I was a kid I wanted to be a truck driver. I wanted to climb all the way up into the cab and captain that big eighteen wheeler across the country. Then for a while I wanted to be a cowboy and wear those tight fitting Wrangler jeans, pointy boots and of course one of those totally cool cowboy hats. I didn’t necessarily want to do the work of the cowboy; I guess I just wanted to play the part of a cowboy. Well, now that I think about it, I really didn’t want to do the work of a truck driver either. I just wanted to play the part of a truck driver.

So here’s a question for you to consider: Are you who you really are or are you just a “player”? In a world where it’s so easy to “play the part”, are you being you or are you playing the part of someone else? When you really understand how special you are to God then you won’t be looking to play the part of someone else, you’ll gladly enjoy just being you.

I hope you know how great you are. Did you know that you are so amazingly special that there is not another person like you on the entire planet? Are you familiar with the term “collectable”? If a manufacturer makes a gazillion of something, those things don’t have much value so people don’t collect them. But if there are only a few made then they become a collectable and they have a much higher value. For instance, because there is only one Mona Lisa painting, it has become extremely valuable. A coin can be worth way more than face value if there aren’t a lot of them around.

So listen, there is only one you. You are it, you are an original. There is no mold for you. You were handmade by God Himself. The One who created everything, from the seas to the mountains, to the sunrise to the sunset created YOU. No one has your eyes, no one has your fingerprints, no one has your DNA. It’s you baby, you’re one of a kind. A hundred years from now a new improved version of you is not going to come out. It’s just you, right now. You are one-of-a-kind, unique and of such value that only one thing could ever purchase you. And that’s the blood of Jesus Christ.

Wow, He must really love you. Maybe you should love yourself too.  Today, let that sink in and make sure to share that reality with someone else too.

Prayer: Father, thanks for taking the time to make me unique. May I always remember how special I am to You. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
