The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
(Ps. 111:10 NIV)
The fear of the Lord is the source of wisdom. When we fear God, we follow Him. That is where wisdom begins. If we are not following God, we cannot find true wisdom.

The original Hebrew word for beginning can be translated “first fruits.”* The first fruit of the fear of the Lord is wisdom.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
(James 3:17 NIV)
Wisdom from heaven is full of good fruit:
Its motives are to be faithful to the Master, accepting His assignments with joy. Its goal is not to be the greatest, but to be obedient to the call. It will rejoice at the advancement of the kingdom, whether it occurs through us or another.**
Mere knowledge may be obtained without fear of the Lord. But knowledge without godly wisdom is just information. There is an abundance of information in the world, but there is not enough transformation and revelation. This is not a result of God’s inability to reveal and transform. Rather, it stems from disobedience and disregard of God’s call and commands.

True wisdom is wisdom from above, which doesn’t shift like sand at the blowing of the wind. No. Wisdom’s roots run deep, planted in reverence of the Lord.

Wisdom leads and guides as we follow the leading and prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Wisdom opens up and reveals truths in God’s Word.

Wisdom plants seeds of eternity in our hearts so that we seek to live in a righteous manner worthy of our heavenly inheritance.
By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
(Prov. 24:3–4 NIV)
Wisdom unlocks the doors of heaven. Fear God and follow Him fervently, for the heavenly treasures awaiting you are rare and beautiful. The discovery of godly wisdom will establish for you a future hope that will not be cut off (see Prov. 24:14).
