hangingheartsEverything we do, we do by motivation. I've heard people say that they did nothing by motivation, and I've heard people say they are motivated to do nothing. The reality is everything that is done is a result of some type of motivation. The man who says he has no motivation and lies in a hammock all day is actually motivated. You may say that you see no motivation in laziness. However, I've seen some people work harder at doing nothing than people who actually work hard.

As a Christian, everything we do must be motivated by love. If we are walking in the true balance of life, the result will be healthy minds, healthy bodies, and a soul that is at peace. This can only be accomplished if love is our motivation.

If love motivates what you eat, then you will eat healthy. Because you love your family, because you love your children and because you love yourself, you will eat properly. If love is your motivation, your work habits will be balanced. You will be ethical and of high character because you love your boss and your fellow workers, because you love your family, and because you love God's law.

If the love of God is your motivation for attending church, then there will be no strife in you and you will not allow any strife near you because of the love of God in your heart. Your motives will be correct for singing in the choir, for teaching a class or for any job that you do in God's house. With the correct motivation there will be no fear or insecurity because perfect love casts out fear.

God has a plan for your life. He wants to be the motivation behind everything that you do and everything that you say. God is love, therefore, everything you do and everything you say must be motivated by love.

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18)
