Looking through a photo album can be a very special time. You may have seen your family pictures a hundred times, but every time you look at them, you notice other details that weren't obvious before.

Many times, those seemingly small details help you to appreciate those closest to you even more.

The same is true with God and His Word. You can read the Bible from cover to cover, and get a new revelation every time you read it. And just when you think you know Who God is, the Holy Spirit will give you a better understanding.

As I fellowship more with God, He constantly reveals Himself in new ways. I'm learning more about God and I see a different side of Him as our relationship grows deeper. The more I seek Him in prayer, the more I find out about Him. Truthfully, my prayer time is much more meaningful now than ever before.

Lord, Teach Us to Pray
I don't know about you, but I would rather learn how to accurately pray from the One He sent to teach us—Jesus. He can teach me what theology can't. Don't get me wrong, theology is fine. But there's something about practicing "kneeology," getting on your knees and praying according to the Word.

God wants you to know how to fellowship with Him and how to receive the most out of your contact with Him. The need for proper teaching on prayer is vital for every believer. Prayer according to the Word of God—His will—gets God's attention (1 John 5:14). Therefore knowing God and praying according to the Word is an absolute necessity.

The "How To"
Jesus gave us the perfect model by which to begin. You may know it as the "Lord's Prayer." Some people assume that Jesus meant for us to recite this prayer every time we pray. What He actually gave us was the "how to," or the blueprint, of prayer.

In Jesus' day, teachers, known as rabbis, taught by using outlines. So the Lord's Prayer is actually an outline or a guideline on how to pray. Jesus said, "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name" (Matt. 6:9).

Growing up, I never understood what hallowed meant. I later learned that to hallow means "to sanctify or set apart." It also means "to praise and adore." In other words, God's name should be reverenced above everything and everyone. Once you make a quality decision to practice hallowing His name during your prayer time, you'll begin to understand the wonder and glory of God's divine character.

God's personality and the depth of commitment to bless His people is revealed in the name Jehovah. Exodus 6:3 says,
I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
Jehovah is the Jewish name which means "Lord."

More specifically, it means "Self-existent and Eternal—The Changeless One." In Malachi 3:6, God says, "I am the Lord, I change not…." He and His Word are eternal—they have no end. To get a better understanding of Who Jehovah is, think of Him as the Revealing One—revealing the many aspects of His character. He is the One Who keeps His covenant.

The Provision Has Already Been Made
As a child of God, you are the covenant seed of Abraham (see Galatians 3:29). In other words, you are an heir to the five-fold promises made to the Body of Christ. His promises include your reborn spirit, forgiveness of sins, soundness, success and security.

For every need in your life, Jehovah has already made the provision. From salvation to success and total life prosperity, He has proven Himself as the One you can trust.

Jehovah revealed Himself to Moses as "I AM THAT I AM" (see Exodus 3:13-14). In essence, He told Moses, "Whatever you need Me to be, I AM THAT."

Child of God, you might be thinking, What is THAT? It is whatever you need Jehovah to be.

Therefore when you face a problem that seems to be greater than you can handle, call on God and He'll be Jehovah, the Problem Solver. Do you need healing? Call on Jehovah Rophe, the Lord God our Healer, He is that. Do you need peace? Call on Jehovah Shalom, the Lord God our Peace.

Regardless of what you need, name it and He'll be THAT. What do you need Him to be?
