What's behind me or ahead of me is not nearly as important as what is within me.

"(Not in your own strength) for it is God who is all the while effectually at work in you (energizing and creating in you the power and desire), both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight" (Phil. 2:13 AMP).

Have you ever noticed how much abuse a football takes in the course of a professional football game? The inflated pig-skin is thrown, kicked and fallen on, and in the course of watching all of those games, have you ever seen the football bust under the pressure of all that abuse?

There is a simple law of physics that is in operation here: the pressure inside the football is greater than the pressure on the outside of it.

In coping with the pressures of day to day life, take a lesson from the football and be encouraged by 1 John 4:4, "...the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
