Have you ever made a promise before and not kept it? Well, thank goodness God never does that!

I was thinking about this when I read some verses in the Bible that reminded me of something that happened to me recently. I had helped my son drive his vehicle back down to his college in Texas. When we reached Fort Worth, he dropped me off at the airport so I could fly back home.

I was excited because my sister, who is a flight attendant, had given me a pass to fly in first class - which was great, because there are benefits that come with flying in first class. Once the plane takes off, they pull a curtain across to divide first class from coach. And when you're in front of that curtain, you get special treatment.

The day I flew home, the passengers in coach got a can of pop and a bag of peanuts. But I had my choice of all different kinds of cookies, buttery pretzels and different snacks - just to start with.

Then they brought out a wonderful lunch with a delicious sandwich, fresh fruit and cheesecake. Plus I was offered all kinds of beverages. It was wonderful. On top of that, the seats were bigger and they had a little footrest that came down for your feet. I was comfy with a capital "C."

When I recently read these verses in Hebrews 10, it reminded me of my trip in first class.
So friends we can now without hesitation walk right up to God into the holy place. Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of His sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The curtain into God's presence is His body. So let's do it full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out. Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps His Word.
(Heb. 10 The Message)
In the natural realm, there is a curtain that separates first class from coach - and the way you get into first class is by having the right kind of ticket.

It's the same way in the spiritual realm. When we make Jesus our Lord, we get a ticket to enjoy the "first class promises" of God. It would be foolish for us to stay back in "coach" and not receive any of His blessings when they are fully ours.

Imagine if the first class flight attendant on my flight had come to me and said, "Would you like a meal?" It would have been foolish of me to reply, "Oh no, I don't deserve it," or "I'm not really sure you'll give it to me, even though you said you will."

I can assure you I didn't sweat it one bit! I cracked out a book, relaxed, put my feet up and enjoyed all of the privileges that came with being in first class. And it's that way with God.

We can sit back, relax and know that His promises are ours. We're entitled to them! We have a ticket to get beyond the curtain into the "first class promises" of God.

So if you haven't been enjoying His promises, you need to start doing what the Bible says and "be full of belief and confident" that you have a right to His promises because you are a child of God.

And then, "keep a firm grip on the promises...because He ALWAYS keeps His Word." Every promise in the Word is yours; you're entitled to them. You have a right to enjoy them. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the "first class" promises of God in your life!
