Does being mean and unforgiving cause Christians to be sick, stop them from being healed, or hinder their prayers?

The book of First John deals with the subject of loving others and it is important to Christians. Notice what is declared in this book concerning our prayers being answered:
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
(1 John 3:21-23 NKJ)
Not loving one another or not doing what is pleasing in God's sight will hinder answers to our prayers. Many Christians can't receive a healing from God because they practice sin or they walk out of love; that is, they are mean and unforgiving.

Another good example is found in the book of 1 Corinthians:
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
(1 Cor. 11:28-32 NKJ)
When we don't love others, God doesn't answer our prayers, and we end up not being able to be healed. The Christians in the above verses were dying young and not being healed because they treated each other wrongly.
