[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience].
(Eph. 3:19 AMP)

I speak well of my husband—my sons' father—but I don't make him out to be some incredible superhero. Yet they know that he's strong and big and smart, because they have experienced his strength and his wisdom for themselves.

He sometimes wrestles with them, and at bedtime he often carries all of them upstairs at the same time. When they go through a tough time, he has good advice for them. He's got a hug and a kiss for them every night. He spends time with them. So they not only know their dad, but they've experienced an intimate, father-son relationship with him; they know how much he loves them.

Do you know that God, our heavenly Father, longs for us to know Him and how much He loves us? If we can ever really grasp the truth about who our Father is and the depth of His love for us, I believe that it will be the bridge that connects us to God, that takes head knowledge (knowing about God) and applies it to the heart (knowing Him intimately).

Don't settle for only knowing about God. Spend time with Him in prayer and through His Word. Get to know Him and His love for you—on a personal basis. Once you experience God for yourself, you'll never settle for less. 1

Make Your Day Count
How well do you know God? Do you know what others say about Him? Do you know what the Bible says about Him? Real fulfillment comes from knowing God for yourself, on a personal basis. Tell God today that you really want to know Him. Make it your great quest.
