"And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me" (Ps. 50:15).

When trouble comes, call upon God; and call upon Him in faith. When you do, He will deliver you. And as a result of that deliverance, you and all those around you will give God glory, honor and praise. When you open your mouth and say what God said when your body is trembling, and everyone else is saying, "Woe is me," you will liberate yourself and everybody else around you.

In the face of trouble, speak the Word. And that will be the day you are delivered.

God promised that He would deliver you. Psalms 91:1 says, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." The secret place is the place of His presence. The individual who spends time before God every day, before leaving home is one who abides in His presence.

Here is a good example of one way God brings deliverance. A friend of mine was in the hotel next to the World Trade Center on September 11th. He had just come out the shower when the plane hit the second tower. He was wondering what was going on.

They told the guests to stay in the hotel. He said, he was sitting there like the rest of them. And then he said it was like an angel came in the room and grabbed him by the shoulder and said, "Get out now!" So he ran out with no shoes on his feet. He dived under a truck and started thanking the Lord, because as soon as he got out the debris hit the hotel and he was not in it.

The psalmist knew a little bit about being delivered out of trouble. He said that after your deliverance, you shall glorify God.

Now there are some people who pray only when they are in trouble. If that's you, you can change that today by spending time in the word and prayer daily. Don't get yourself in the position where you almost fall off the edge. Don't live on the edge; live in His presence.
