God intends that there be an intimacy between the husband and wife so that the physical, emotional, and total needs of both can be met in that relationship. This kind of intimacy takes work. It takes commitment.

It takes the grace of God to bring two people into a place where they each leave, cleave, and come into unity and intimacy as husband and wife.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
(Gen 2:25)
Intimacy is the willingness to be open and transparent with your mate. It is the sharing of thoughts, dreams, desires, and feelings in a free and flowing relationship.

Nothing is hidden or restrained in a truly intimate relationship. There is no shame, fear, or embarrassment in this level of love.

To develop intimacy at all levels in every phase of a relationship takes time. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen immediately. On the other side, continue to believe for God's best.
