Have you ever had a situation in your church or on the job with a fellow believer (or a non-believer, for that matter) that just seemed to rub you the wrong way? You've done everything that you know to do to rectify the situation….

You've confronted the individual; you've walked in love with all your heart. You've done everything that you know to do, but this person just doesn't seem to hear you. Or, they have chosen to ignore your heart's desire.

It has gotten to the point that you hate to see this individual come anywhere near you. You just know they are going to disrespect you and violate your comfort zone. What's a person to do?

The best thing to do is what Jesus commanded us to do in Mark 11:
And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it; and let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop.
(v. 25 Amp.)
What a powerful solution to an unresolved conflict. Actually, this verse puts you in the driver's seat. It is an excellent resolution for something that could have, or would have, turned into an ugly altercation.

What's so powerful about this verse is that it is placed right on the heels of two of the most powerful statements that ever came from the mouth of Jesus:
Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it].
(Mark 11:23-24 Amp.)
Verses 23-24 will not work for us if we haven't done verse 25. It doesn't matter what the situation is. You might be 100 percent right and the other party 100 percent wrong.

It's not a matter of who is right or who is wrong, it's a matter of being willing to let it drop. Is it really worth letting your blood pressure go up just to prove you are right? Is it worth getting your nose out of joint, only to find out that you were to some extent the reason for the controversy?

No, there are some things that we will have to learn to let drop. There will be situations that we will simply need to remove from our thought life.

There are also circumstances that we must choose to never speak about. Why? Because they don't edify.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.
(Eph. 4: 29-32)
In Mark 11:25, Jesus said, when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, just forgive them. Let's say that you have walked in the God Kind of Love with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

You have a very positive disposition with those on your job. Everything seems to be flowing the way it is supposed to be flowing. Yet something seems to stop you in your tracks.

You keep asking Holy Spirit to reveal it to you, but nothing seems to come through.

Then one day a situation comes to the surface where you are confronted with the decision to forgive yourself. The Holy Spirit begins to reveal to you what you've asked Him to.

It's very difficult because you were certain that of all things you had forgiven yourself. You've forgiven each person who you needed to, save one. That one is you.

Choosing not to forgive yourself will grieve The Holy Spirit. You must be as generous and as loving to yourself as you would be to others.

Before you can really love with the God kind of love, it is essential to have the same attitude about yourself that God has about you. Before you can love others, you must first love yourself.

It's time to let it drop.
