A church of God is not an exclusive club of chosen people, each concerned about his own business. It is not called to create an internal religious dream world, either.

A church that does not go out into the world and preach the Word of God is not a church as God has wished. A fire without flames is no fire! A church is called to be a rescue center by God: an operating theatre for physical illnesses, a psychiatric clinic and a divine birth clinic, where souls are born into the Kingdom of God.

What is the value of an aesthetic sanctuary and the most artistic worship if we do not go beyond the four walls of our church and fulfill Christ's command: "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

Prayer And Revival
Many Christians pray for revival in their country, some have even been doing it for decades. But there is no such prayer in the New Testament. Jesus' order to us is not: "Pray for revival!" but: "Go and preach the Gospel!"

It is not God, who has to do something so that revival comes—He has already done everything; He has given us everything we need for it! We have to do something so that revival comes, namely what Jesus said: "Go and preach!"

The Great Commission means: "Go, YOU, and preach my Word—and THEN I will confirm my Word, and do signs and wonders, and let revival come." This is the prescription of the New Testament for revival!

Prayer for revival is for those, who do not know any better—and for those, who are afraid to get going. Fear is human, fear of other people's reactions, of state powers, of going too far. Jesus Christ himself permanently went "too far"!

Peter and John did fear as well, but they did not hide when they were forbidden to preach.
And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
(Acts 4:29-30)
Peter and John were men of action. It would never have come to their minds to ask God for revival; rather they asked Him that He would supernaturally enable them to overcome their fears so that they could preach His Word with all boldness.

Revival comes by revived ones!

Jesus Means It Quite Literally
"Go ye into all the world..." (Mark 16:15).

The first Christians took the Great Commission quite literally. They reached almost the entire world they knew in their time. They suffered enormous strains to carry the Word of God into the remote parts of the earth and they were highly successful!

It is an undisputed fact that nearly every region where they preached the Gospel was struck by a revival. They knew that the Holy Ghost was not poured out for their entertainment, but that they were to preach the Gospel in His power. And Jesus still means His commission to us quite literally. He has never changed or deleted His commission.

It is valid now and here, for you and for me! We are all called to be involved in the spreading of the Gospel. But Jesus does not say: "Go THOU...," but: "Go YE...." Not everybody is called to travel to far-off nations in order to evangelize there, but everybody is called to play a part in this to the best of their ability.

Preaching The Word of God
"...and preach the gospel to every creature" (Mark 16:15).

If people are to be reached with the Gospel, the Gospel has to be preached to them and nothing else! When somebody who is called thereto, goes out and does this, then we will experience how what is written by Paul becomes reality.
Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance....
(1 Thess. 1:4-5)
Then we will see how people get saved, and how signs and miracles happen as they did with the disciples: "And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following" (Mark 16:20).

The Word's Power
God's strategy for the growth of His church is called "evangelism." The Gospel does not fail. When it is preached then we experience how effective it really is! "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth..." (Rom. 1:16).

The Gospel is God's power unto salvation! When it is preached, it's power is set free: power to save people—power to heal people—power to set people free—power to raise the dead—power to meet every need!

Therefore nobody has to fear preaching the Word of God, for when we preach it, all heaven stands behind us and we experience how God himself confirms His Word with signs and wonders. Signs and wonders are part of it! Evangelism without signs and wonders is like "Samson without hair"!

When we go and fulfill our Great Commission, we experience how God sets everything in motion and revival will be there! Lost souls are snatched away from hell, and the Kingdom of God is built!
