We live in a day and time when we must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and be led of the Spirit in everything we do; this is no time to be lazy and casual spiritually!
I've been praying more about China. You do realize if an outpouring of the Spirit in the last days is to bring into the kingdom a harvest of souls, then China must somehow be involved. One fourth of the world's population lives within the borders of China, and approximately 80 percent of this 1.6 billion people live in an area the size of the eastern half of the United States!
I must say, the fields are ripe unto harvest there! The hunger for God is as great in China as anywhere I've witnessed in the last ten years.
India is a huge harvest field as well, as one of every five people on the earth is of Indian descent. It is truly a nation experiencing change, as masses convert from traditional Hinduism to Christianity. You must go and see what the Lord is doing there!
I've been praying more about Africa. It is certainly a continent plagued by rampant diseases such as aids/HIV, malaria, TB, extreme poverty, tribal wars, genocide, droughts, pestilence, and corrupt governments.
Yet in the midst of this, God is pouring out His Spirit. Although Africa has been referred to as "the dark continent" in times past, today we see entire nations within Africa experiencing the presence and power of God.
Several ministries reported in 2006 evangelistic crusades where over one million people received Christ in a single hour, and gatherings of up to three million people in a single crusade! This is unprecedented.
Finally, I've been praying about the "stans," the countries that were part of the former Soviet Union, that today are predominantly Muslim. For several years, I've been praying about entrances and connections into North Korea, North Vietnam, and Libya, as well as returning to Cuba and Iran.
I believe I'm to take prayer teams into these places for specific prayer assignments and ministry assignments. There is a tremendous spiritual awakening taking place. Nations are being aligned according to God's plan for a last great harvest of souls that will precede the return of Christ!
The Church, the body of believers entrusted to take the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the spiritually dark places, is being raised up and aligned to fulfill this Great Commission.
I'm so stirred in my heart; the Lord has truly set before us ministry opportunities to go to every nation of the world. You and I have been anointed and equipped to go and experience this outpouring of His Spirit. I know from personal experience, when God directs His power and anointing through me to minister to someone in need, it ignites greater passion in me to dedicate and consecrate my life to serving Him!
Think about this for just a moment! The ministry of Jesus right now involves prayer and intercession for those in need of salvation (Hebrews 7:25). Jesus is also praying for you, interceding for you, and for those that will come to know the Truth through your words and teaching (John 17:20).
Jesus has already prepared the way in prayer for you to go and for you to minister the Truth to those that need to be saved! It should be obvious He needs you to do what He can't do! We are His body in the earth today, given the responsibility to "go" and "win souls." This is the time and hour for action. Will you go?
Since Living Word's earliest years, Kent Otey served Living Word in many capacities. In 1983, he joined the staff of Living Word full-time and served in various capacities which included evangelism, singles, counseling, and pastoral care.
