The McDowells arrived in the USA August 18th. Soon after their arrival they received the news of the passing of their beloved Annet who had been with WWTC since 2005. She was a charter class graduate and was recently promoted to Dean of Student Affairs. This was a great loss to the entire WWTC staff.

The staff worked tirelessly to assist Annet’s husband and the family with the funeral arrangements. Annet’s unborn son was laid to rest with her. She is greatly missed.

Clifton and Leta have been visiting with family, friends and partners. One highlight of their return trip to the USA was their West Coast Trip. In early September they headed out to travel by car from Oklahoma through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. They ministered at several churches along the way, visited with family and partners, met new friends, and saw beautiful vistas of God’s creation. Words alone cannot express the value and beauty of this trip! They arrived back in Oklahoma the last day of September.

The WWTC Staff in Kenya are preparing for classes to begin in January while the McDowells are in the USA. They are also diligently working to secure the property site of the new training facility. The site is now completely fenced with 12 strands of barbed wire. A security hedge has also been planted. This will take several years to grow.

Another aspect of the security project on the new site has to do with putting up a security gate, guard house, storage house and latrine. This is currently in progress and will complete the security phase of the building project.

The Life Study Program is in progress. This is another project that the WWTC staff is working on during the interim months. The LSP is a home study program designed to meet the needs of adults who are unable to attend WWTC classes on campus. It is the hope of the McDowells and the staff to be able to offer this program in 2012. Those who participate in this program will qualify to graduate with the on-campus students upon completion of the course.
