Matthew 6:1, 4(NLT)
Take care! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven…
Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

During our working life, we have daily opportunities to help our co-workers with small and big things. Jesus tells us to be careful not to broadcast it when we help somebody because that’s all the reward we will receive. Instead, we are to help others and keep it a secret. Then, our Father, who sees all things and knows all secrets, will reward us.

Sometimes, nobody will ever know what you did for somebody else to help them get a new job, to complete a task successfully, or to finish a project on time. It doesn’t matter what it is. God knows. Other times, God Himself will make it public to the right people, at the right time. Let God surprise you with His reward, whether it’s here on earth or in heaven. He will always reward you when you help others from your heart, with pure motives.

The same way we are to do our good deeds in secret, Jesus tells us to pray and fast in secret (Matthew 6:5 NLT). That way, only God knows, and He will reward us.
