"And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen" (Rev. 1:6).

God's plan for His children is to reign as kings and priests in this life. So let me ask you this: Are you ruling your life as a king and priest?

In order to answer this question, we must ask more questions. How does a king reign? Is a king prosperous? Does he allow the enemy into his house? And the priest, what does he do?

Does he minister to those under him, presenting God's Word as a guideline for their lives? Does the king dress and act like a pauper? Does a priest know how to pray?

As we answer these questions, we can easily see that many Christians are not living as kings and priests in their households. A king has compassion for those under his authority and sets aside rules and regulations for their good.

As kings on this earth we have been given the ultimate rulebook. It's the Holy Bible, the book known as God's Word. In it is the constitution for our kingdom and the rules, regulations and guidelines for daily living. When followed, these rules and regulations will bring peace, freedom, life and contentment.

The king protects and supplies while the priest teaches and imparts. As a king and priest, you have this same responsibility within your own family. You must protect your family by proclaiming the blood of Jesus and its protective power. You must supply the needs of your family through being obedient to, confessing and receiving God's Word and His promises.

You must teach through your lifestyle and by being a living example of what you teach. You must impart all of the knowledge and wisdom that God has given you to the next generation so that they may pick up where you left off and go further.

Living as a king and priest is not just God's will, but it is an excellent lifestyle that will produce abundance and fruit in your life.
