Devotions for Kids
Written by Mark Harper
"How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?"
- Deut. 32:30

When we work together on anything, we have more power. This is true for natural things and for spiritual things. When you pray, if you have someone agree with you, then you have more power in that prayer. In fact, the Bible says that you have ten times more power when you have one person agree with you in prayer.

Jesus did many mighty miracles when He was here on the earth. Jesus healed lame men, gave sight to the blind, cleansed lepers, and even raised people from the dead.

The ministry of Jesus was the greatest ministry that the world has ever seen; yet even Jesus needed to have people believe in Him and be in "agreement" with Him.

Jesus said to many of those that were healed in His ministry, "Your faith has made you whole." That seems to imply that if they didn't have any faith, or agreement, they probably would not have been healed.

One day, Jesus preached in His hometown of Nazareth. Many of the people said, "Hey, isn't this Jesus, Mary and Joseph's son? I knew him when he was just a little squirt. There's nothing special about this Jesus."

The Bible tells us that Jesus couldn't do any mighty miracles in His hometown, because of their unbelief. Jesus wanted to help the people, but He couldn't, because they were working against Him. The people weren't in agreement with Jesus' ministry.

Prayer of Agreement
In the prayer of agreement, both people have to be in agreement. For example, you ask a friend to agree with you to get rid of sickness, and your friend prays with you, but he really doesn't think that God will heal you.

You are working against each other in this prayer. You will never move the mountain of sickness. You both have to be in agreement.

Now pretend your friend changes his mind and decides to agree that God will heal you. When you are in agreement, you can move the mountain.
