“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.”
We take our place in the body of Christ by serving God and people with the divine tools He provides. The truth of the Word of God must be like a belt around our waist. A Roman soldier wore a leather girdle around his waist that served as the belt that tied everything else together. Truth in our life does the same for us.
The Message Bible says: Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued… truth, righteousness…
Many people struggle with willingness to take a good, long, truthful view of their life and circumstances. Some don’t look honestly because they fear what they might see. Others have briefly glimpsed the reality of their life but didn’t like what they saw. In both cases, we are hindered in living our lives out with gladness and joy, with a purposeful vision, if we don’t let truth prevail. So then, take your stand. Fasten truth around your waist like a belt, look the enemy in the eye, and go for it.
Today’s Thought to Take With You:
I have the full armor of God. I have the belt of truth holding my life together.
