Working For God

by Tim Davidson | A Verse A Day

“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

(Col. 3:23 KJV)

Whatever we do, we need to do it eagerly and willingly with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. Whatever we are doing on a daily basis should be a working from our soul as though we were serving the Lord Himself, and not just our earthly boss or manager. Do it wholeheartedly and don’t hold your best effort back for personal benefit.

The Message Bible says: Work from the heart for your real Master, for God.

Let your heart be in your work. We must understand and remember that all we do we do for the Lord and not for men. God says that when we do this He is honored by us and pleased with us. The reason is we have been commissioned as His ambassadors and we don’t ever represent only ourselves any more. Never try to serve God one way, but then serve men in any lesser way.

Today’s Thought to Take With You:

In whatever I do today, I do it with all my strength because I am really doing it for God.
