Avoid a Sharp Tongue

by Steve Marr | Uncategorized

When managing staff, do you confuse brow-beating with effective communication?

A son of Jacob was told, you are “uncontrolled as water, you shall not have preeminence” (Gen. 49:4 NASB).

Many managers mistakenly use a sharp tongue to keep staff in line.

Managers who consistently fire off criticisms publicly and fail to maintain a balance of communicating good and negative job performance are like a flood of uncontrolled water.

As with a flood, tremendous damage will be done to employee morale, and ultimately good staff members will depart rather than be subject to tirades.

Keep communication channeled for success.
