“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
“We are His workmanship” means that we are the product of His creative genius. We are the very fabric that He uses. We are the workmanship of God’s heart, not just His hand.
The Message Bible says: “No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.”
God has planned for us to do good things. That’s the reason He sent Jesus to craft us into what we are. God formed us naturally; the very hairs on our head He knows. But He also prepared us spiritually. Through our union with Jesus Christ we are created for a life of good deeds, deeds that reflect God’s heart of love and generosity toward mankind.
I am God’s workmanship. I have been created for works of Christ-like love. I am not here by accident.
