I spoke to a seminary graduate that recently discovered God’s promises for prosperity. She was surprised that she didn’t notice them before, because she was suddenly finding scriptures on prosperity throughout the Bible.
It was as though she discovered a precious map to a long lost treasure chest. When I began to tell her about a new verse that I just found, her face lit up with excitement. As she walked away, I knew that she was on the right track. She was destined for abundance.
I guess I’m still shocked by the number of Christians that haven’t discovered the truth about biblical prosperity. You would think that the very first words that God spoke to mankind would settle that issue once and for all. The Bible records them in Genesis 1:28, “And God blessed them,” (that word blessed means empowered to prosper)!
Just those four little words would have been enough, but God did not stop there. The verse goes on to say, “…and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
If you have never heard it before, I want you to know today that God has empowered you to prosper, spiritually, physically and financially. He wants you to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. You were created to be blessed going in and blessed going out. You are the blessed of the Lord. This is not just a suggestion from your Creator, it is His command in Deuteronomy 28:1-13!
God sent His Son Jesus to bring this message to the world. In fact, in His first sermon, Jesus boldly proclaimed it was now “…The acceptable year of the Lord, the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound” (Luke 4:19 AMP).
We know that God’s Word cannot change and it will not return to Him void. It will accomplish that which He sent it to do. He will have a people that will be fruitful. God will have a generation that will receive His promise and welcome this day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound.
I looked up the word profusely and I found out that it means “to radiate with abundance; plentifully, abundantly, extravagantly, freely.” Now that ought to make you shout! That’s the kind of free favors that our God has prepared for His children. You are destined for abundance!
Jesus said, “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (John 10:10 AMP).
One definition of overflow is “to have a boundless supply; be superabundant.” That is exactly what Jesse and I are declaring for this ministry and for our Covenant Partners all over the world.
We expect a boundless supply of healing for the sick and salvation for the lost. We know that God has superabundant deliverance for the captive and prosperity for the poor. We are committed to proclaiming God’s promise of abundance to everyone that will obey His Word. Glory!
