When you start believing a lie, suddenly you become a lie.
Now that may sound harsh but it’s true! If you become a lie, you become something that is not really you because you were born out of truth! (God’s truth!)
You are no longer your own personality but you become the personality of the lie. You may start to feel that you have to perform or put on an act to be accepted.
Understand what I am saying, when you become part of the lie, you start lying! Whoa! That means you become a liar because you start to believe that you are a worthless nobody. You may even start to believe that you are ugly. Hey come on, wake up! That’s a lie!
See that? Now YOU are lying.
“The Lord God called to Adam, ‘Why are you hiding?’ And Adam replied, ‘I heard you coming and didn’t want you to see me naked. So I hid.’ ‘Who told you, you were naked?’ the Lord God asked” (Gen. 3:9-11 TLB).
God said, “Who told you, you were naked?” It’s a lie! Do you see it? Who told you that you were dumb? Who told you that you were ugly? When that fruit was eaten it totally changed the future and distorted man’s view of himself!
The tree was no longer God’s gift, but it became a curse because they partook of that fruit in disobedience and rebellion. When you believe the lie you become part of a lie and then you begin lying.
