“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 KJV).
Now, I like what the psalmist said in Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd.” He’s my shepherd. Saying that comes from having gone through something. David has been chased; his life has been threatened. He’s been stripped of his family and of everything that he could have in life. He’s had to sleep in caves, and he said the Lord is my shepherd.
He’s my shepherd. I know he’s your shepherd, but he’s my shepherd. He’s watching after me. I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, glory to God. He leads me beside still waters and he restores my soul. He leads me in the path of right standing for his namesake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death…. He didn’t say, I get in the valley and sit down and say, “Oh, I’m in the valley, down in the valley, valley so low. He didn’t say go in the valley and pitch a tent. He didn’t say to lay down in the valley.
He didn’t say get in the valley and say, “Everybody come be with me in the valley. Oh, woe is me, I’m in the valley.” No. He said, yea, though I walk through the valley, there’s valley to the left and valley to the right, but the Lord is my shepherd, and I’m walking through the valley of the shadow of death.
I will fear no evil, because, Lord you are with me. In the bank you are with me. On the street you are with me. On the job you are with me. In the school you are with me. Wherever I go you are with me. Not only are you with me, but your power is with me too, and so is your ability, your anointing and your favor.
Well, you are blessed because you aren’t worrying about the problem. You’re walking through the valley. You’re not looking at the valley. You’re walking through the valley, glory to God. You’re walking through today and you’ve got your eyes on the Son of God.
