“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over” (Ps. 23:5).
What is this verse saying about me? Is it saying that God’s anointing will be on me? Is it saying I will have more than enough until my cup runs over? Yes, this verse is saying that…and much more.
God is saying when you run through life His anointing shall be all over you. You will glisten with the glory of my presence. God’s anointing will cause you to be able to run through whatever situation you are dealing with. For His anointing on you will be in overflow.
Thou anointest my head with oil. In Malachi 3, the latter part of verse 10 says, “…and I will pure you out a blessing…” The blessing is the manifestation of the anointing.
When you have a manifestation of the anointing on financial things – poverty flees. When you have a manifestation of the anointing in your body – sickness flees. When you have a manifestation of the anointing in your family – strife ceases.
The anointing removes burdens and it destroys yokes. It is the power of God.
God is going to anoint your head with oil. That means He will start at the top, and the oil will flow down from your head, and then it will flow down through your beard, onto your clothes, and continue to flow all the way down to your feet until you are covered and glistening wet in the anointing.
He will anoint you until your cup of anointing runs over. When it runs over the side that means you will have more than enough.
You see, God is a more than enough God. He is a “good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over” God. He is a “pour you out a blessing until you don’t have enough room to receive the manifestation of the anointing” God. God wants to give you more than enough because you follow the Shepherd.
There is total provision in following the Shepherd. He has plenty in His pasture. He will take care of you. He is constantly trying to lead and guide you. So, allowing the Shepherd to lead you is the key to the manifestation of the blessing.
Somebody needs to know the Lord as his or her Shepherd today. Allow the Lord to lead and guide you today, tomorrow and forever. Say yes to His will for your life. Remember, God’s anointing will manifest your blessing.
