Greater Works Shall You Do By Faith

by Keith Butler | Uncategorized

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12-13).

Will somebody please read the Bible and show me where you can get away from faith? This verse says, “He that believes on me.” In other words, if you don’t believe, you are not exercising faith and you’ll produce a big fat zero. The question is, “How can we, as believers, do greater works than God, if we leave faith out?”

Now, Jesus had the spirit without measure. We have the spirit by measure. All of us combined, the whole Body of Christ, has the spirit without measure. But Jesus had the whole kit and caboodle by Himself. Notice, we can do greater works than God quantitatively, but not qualitatively.

Jesus led many people to God while He was on the earth. Many received Him. But the whole Body of Christ wins more people to Jesus than He did when He was walking on the earth. Why? Because there are more of us and there was only one of Him; therefore, we are doing a greater work now in quantity, but not quality.

We are the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ: our mission is to win more people to the kingdom of God than Jesus did when He was walking on the earth. So in that sense, we are doing greater works than the Lord.

Now, notice in verse 13, why we are doing those greater works – is it because we believe on Him? The scripture says whatsoever you shall ask, which means demand. In this verse we are not asking God for something, but rebuking Satan. You are demanding Satan to do something as you believe on and utilize the name of Jesus.

So whatsoever you shall demand in Jesus’ name that will He do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in Jesus’ name, He will do it. His anointing and His power are present for you to make demands on the devil.

Remember you’re not praying and asking God to heal you, deliver you, or deliver somebody else. You already know that God’s will is for men and women to be delivered. In this case, you have authority to demand the devil to get his hand off your body, or off that person you are praying for. Yes, you were ordained to do greater works in the name of Jesus. But take into account it is only by faith.
