Having Done All—Stand!

by Mark Brazee | 365 Days of Healing

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand” (Eph. 6:13).

I know a lady who, when she became pregnant, found out that a childhood case of rheumatic fever had permanently damaged her heart. Her doctor put her on heart medication indefinitely.

Later the woman discovered Mark 11:24—”What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”—and began to feed her spirit on it. Then she prayed and believed she received healing for her damaged heart.

For two years, every time she took her medicine, she’d say, “Thank God, I’m healed by Jesus’ stripes. Medicine doesn’t heal me; it just keeps my heart beating right while God does the healing.” She kept standing on the Word.

One day, the lady went to get her medication out of the medicine cabinet. Suddenly the Holy Ghost spoke to her spirit, saying, You don’t need the medicine now. Throw it away. (Notice that she didn’t stop taking her medicine until she knew that God had told her to do it.)

Some time later, she went to another heart specialist, who conducted more tests. After examining the test results, he said, “There must have been a mix-up in the original diagnosis, because your heart is fine.” Now, heart damage doesn’t just disappear. No, this woman supernaturally received her healing!

Someone may say, “Well, the woman must not have had faith for the two years she took her medicine.” Yes, she did. Her faith may have just been a seed, but it was growing.

You see, we all want quick results to our prayer of faith—and at times we may receive them. If our faith is developed, sometimes we can grab our answers by faith and see them instantly manifested. But if our answers don’t come quickly, we must keep standing. That’s why Ephesians 6:13 says you may be able, “having done all, to stand.”

So put yourself in a position to hear the Word. Feed continually on God’s promises. Then take hold of your healing by faith, believing that you receive your answer when you pray. Once you’ve done all you know to do, get ready to stand!

Confession:
Although medicine may help me, Jesus is my healer.
Therefore, I say with confidence, “God’s Word works,
and it is working in me now!”
