Hold Fast To Your Confession

by Keith Butler | The Anointed Word

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin” (Heb. 4:14-15 KJV).

Jesus is the high priest of our confession. Can you see Jesus taking your words before the Father and bowing down before Him, saying, “Father, this is what this believer is saying, and what they are saying must be done.” Now when the words you are speaking are words of faith, then your deliverance is at hand. But if you let go of your confession because of how you feel or what you see, then that stops the hand of God from delivering you.

Are you talking about how tough the trial is, or are you saying God has already delivered you from the test, and He is making a way to escape? God acts on His word when you hold fast to your confession.

Jesus is the high priest of our profession. The word profession means something that you grab on to, to press downward, to not let go. It means to almost to sit on it, and you are not going to move away from saying what the word of God says about your situation, even though the situation hasn’t gotten better.

The Word of God is telling us to hold fast to that profession. He can tell us that, because He was able to do it. Just as you’ve been tempted with sickness so was He. You were tempted with poverty, so was He. He’s an overcomer and so are you.

Jesus overcame while being a human being anointed by the Holy Ghost, with the word of God in His mouth. Well, then what are you? You are a human being, anointed by the Holy Ghost, with the word of God in your mouth.

We can’t duplicate the works of God. But we can duplicate the works of a man anointed by God, because Jesus led the way to show us that we could have victory today.

Hebrews 4:16 tells us, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” When we come before God in the middle of a test or trial, we come before a throne of grace.

The word grace is more than just favor. It also means divine blessing, divine health, and divine power of the Holy Ghost. Let us come to the divine throne of grace that we may obtain mercy. Mercy is what we need, and we can find it when we need it when we go to the throne of Grace.

I know that sometimes it seems like God will wait until the eleventh hour and 59th minute. But then suddenly you are delivered. God is faithful. So don’t faint because it seems as though nothing is happening right now. Don’t quit because it doesn’t seem to be moving. You can count on God. He is merciful, and He is faithful, and He will show up just in time.
