But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
(Rom. 5:15 NASB)

This verse compares Adam and Jesus. The loving grace of Jesus provided something different than Adam's sin. Adam's sin brought death to many others. In an awesomely greater way, Jesus Christ alone brought salvation to many people.

The Message Bible says: Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man's sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just think what God's gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do!

God's free gift immeasurably outweighs our transgression. God's outpouring of grace is so much greater than our sin that it swallows it up and spits it out into the sea of no remembrance. When the transgression has been removed the death sentence is also removed and the prisoner can go free. We now go free because of what Jesus has done.

Today's Thought to Take With You:
I was of Adam's sin. But I was saved by Jesus' gift of grace. And it's free to me.
