Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things, which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things, which are before.
(Phil. 3:13 KJV)

Letting go of things that are past is difficult for some of us. We seem to want to hold on to them even if it is hurtful to do so. We get our minds and emotions going backward. The problem with that is there is no power in the universe that goes backward on the time line to undo or alter anything. Success is always determined by decisions we make now.

The Message Bible says: Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus.

It's so much easier to forget those things in the past if we have a goal in the future to focus on. If we are going to struggle with anything it should be with the possibilities of our future, not the failures of our past.

Today's Thought to Take With You:
I forget the things from yesterday and focus on the possibilities of today.
