For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
(Heb. 9:15 NASB)

The first covenant was not perfect because of human weakness. Now, through Jesus, a new agreement has come into being. The blunders of men under the first law covenant are taken away and those of us who have been saved through Jesus Christ receive the eternal go-ahead that God has granted.

The Message Bible says: Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God.

Jesus gives us a guarantee of God's eternal blessings! It's like a condemned prisoner hearing that someone else was executed for the crimes he had committed and now he is told that he is free to go to enjoy an inheritance that will last forever. Jesus abolishes the old and establishes the new. Wow, He did it all for us.
Today's Thought to Take With You:
