When we were children and asked someone to do something for us, and he said he would, it was customary to make him promise. We would say, "I know you said you would do this for me, but do you promise?" It may surprise you, but there is something God cannot do.

It may surprise you, but there is something God cannot do. The Bible tells us in Titus 1:2 and in Hebrews 6:18 that it is impossible for God to lie.

This may seem insignificant at first, but it is one of the most important details about God. This one bit of knowledge, when absorbed into your spirit, can revolutionize your life. In fact, without this knowledge, it is impossible to have faith.

You cannot believe that God will deliver you if you also believe that God could possibly lie.

When we were children and asked someone to do something for us, and he said he would, it was customary to make him promise. We would say, "I know you said you would do this for me, but do you promise?"

God's Word is so pure and true that there is no reason for Him to make a promise. Every word that proceeds from His mouth is a promise as it is spoken. Every word that He has written in His Word is a promise as it is written.

We do not need to ask Him to make a promise. He already has. We just need to believe what He has already said. Why? Because God doesn't lie and we can "stake our life" on His Word.

It is impossible for God to lie (Heb. 6:18).
