As with any spiritual or natural matter, you must make the Word your final authority. Unless you know what the Word says concerning the power that is made available through the blood of Jesus, it will do you no good to plead the blood.

There is no question that there is supernatural power in the blood of Jesus that was shed during His death on the cross. Revelation 12:11 says, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony...."

This scripture is saying that you are able to overcome trouble based on your testimony, or declaration of faith, along with what the blood of Jesus did on your behalf (1 Peter 1:18-22). Therefore, a major step in pleading the blood is to declare your belief in what the blood has accomplished on your behalf.

To strengthen your belief in the power of the blood, take into consideration what took place at the Last Supper. When Jesus took communion with His disciples, He was establishing a covenant with them (Luke 22:20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-25).

He told them that the wine represented His blood—blood that would be shed for their salvation, which included wholeness in every area of their lives.

You have a right to that covenant as well. The blood of Jesus was shed for your total life prosperity, which includes health, wisdom, provision, protection from danger—you name it!

Therefore, don't do anything out of fear, including in prayer, reading the Bible or attending church. The blood of Jesus was the final payment needed to purchase your right to possess and exercise God's power over Satan (Luke 10:17-19).

That means the spirit of fear has no authority or control over you. As the righteousness of God, you're not only forgiven and in right-standing with Him, you are also empowered by the blood of Jesus to conquer fear, sickness, death or anything else that comes to destroy you.

When you pray, or confess, the Word over your life concerning what the blood of Jesus has done for you, do it without fear (Philippians 1:14). Stand in your right to benefit from what Jesus did on the cross.

Regardless of the situation, search the Word for scriptures that address what you're going through, and in the name of Jesus, declare your blood-bought right to experience the goodness of God in your circumstances.

Once that's done, begin thanking God for your deliverance. Tap into the power of Jesus' blood in faith, not through tradition or fear. That's your ticket to security in these last days!
