"For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe" (1 Cor. 1:21).

Jesus is the wisdom of God, personified. The word Christ means the Anointed One and his Anointing. We know that the anointing of God is burden removing, yoke destroying power. Christ is the wisdom of God. That means that the Anointed One, and the anointing that was on the Anointed One, is the wisdom of God. The anointing of God is the Holy Spirit. The anointing of God will remove all burdens and will destroy every single solitary yoke of bondage and oppression.

The wisdom of God is available to us because the Holy Ghost is on the inside of you. "Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." The anointing of God is available to us. So, wisdom is a person, yes, Jesus. Wisdom is also the person of the Holy Ghost. The world doesn't understand this wisdom, but I want you to know that the wisdom of God is available now, and that wisdom will help you remove every burden and destroy any yoke in your life.

Thank God for the wisdom of God. When you are functioning in the wisdom of God, you can't help but be successful. Enough of walking in our wisdom; our wisdom gets us in trouble. There is the wisdom of God. Ecclesiastes 7:12 says this: "For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it."

You can have a whole lot of Bible knowledge, but you need to have some wisdom flowing in it. How many times have you met people that have a whole lot of information but are foolish? They can be educated, which means that they have accumulated a lot of knowledge, but they have no wisdom. They're just educated fools.

Now we don't want to be fools. We want to be wise. So let's talk about six steps to operating in Godly wisdom:

1. Recognize the need.
Recognize that God's wisdom is needed instead of your own wisdom. In other words, you need to come to the conclusion that God is smarter that me. You might think that is obvious. Then why don't we act like it? That's why He said, ask Him for it. Understand, God will not barge in, break down your door with an issue.

2. Seek God's wisdom early.
First of all, recognize that God's wisdom on anything...if God's Word says, and it does, the way to prosper is to give, then you do it, instead of your own wisdom, trying to horde.

If God's Word says the way to deal with that cantankerous person is to walk in love towards them instead of getting out your Smith and Wesson, then get God's wisdom on the matter, yield to his wisdom and walk in love towards them.

God's Word is wisdom, yield to it. Recognize that you need His wisdom instead of your own.

The 8th chapter of Proverbs is about wisdom. Verse 1 says that wisdom cries; verse 11 says that wisdom is better than rubies; verse 12 says that wisdom dwells with prudence. Verse 14 says, it is sound. Then verse 17, wisdom is:

"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me."

Seek wisdom early. Don't wait until after you tried it your way, messed everything up, who knows what's going on now, now you want to see because you're in trouble. Why didn't you seek God in the first place?

Start off early seeking God concerning the job, school, and what's happening in your home. Seek God everyday, and before you make a decision - before you buy a car, before you get hooked up with someone, before you do this and that, seek God's wisdom about it right from the start.

Most people decide how they want to go. They develop their plan, then ask God to please bless it. I can tell you God's response. He doesn't bless your plan; that's your wisdom. He blesses His plan. So, seek Him early to get His plan; then when you get with His plan, you implement His plan and it will work. Seek him early.

3. Walk in the fear of the Lord.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding" (Prov. 9:10).

Walk in the fear of the Lord. Hate evil, pride, arrogance, the evil way, the forward mouth. Live holy, righteous before God. Clean all this other stuff out of your life.

Wisdom will mean separating yourself from people who will lead you away from holiness, weighing you down. There are people who will weigh you down, they are a drag on you, an anchor. You're trying to spend more time in prayer, you trying to get up early and get before God, you trying to act on the Word of God, and they are holding you back.

I'm not talking about divorcing your husband or wife. God said you two are one. Other than that, if somebody is a drag on you, you'd better let them go.

It never ceases to amaze me, folks about to get married - here they are, they're in disagreement, at war with one another. They're already into counseling about this, that and the other, and they aren't even married yet. Let me tell you, if you're having problems before you get married, what in the world...are you out of your mind? You sure aren't operating in godly wisdom.

I tell every one of those, get rid of them. You're supposed to be in the honeymoon stage. You fighting and aren't even married yet? That is a weight, a drag, an anchor, a truck, or something. Cut that. You don't know how fine they are, and you aren't going to see how fine they are because you're fighting all the time. Walk in the fear of God. Get rid of those weights.

4. Know the difference between God's wisdom and your own.
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy" (James 3:17).

Yield to God's wisdom, the wisdom from above, instead of your own. Know the difference between them. Judge it according to the Bible - Get the Bible out and judge that wisdom. If it ain't from God, get away from it, get out of it.

5. Ask Him for wisdom.
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5).

God will not come down, He will not throw you on the floor, walk over you and decide to give you wisdom whether you want it or not. Ask Him for wisdom, insight into the true nature of things. Ask him for wisdom in the middle of the test and trial.

Anytime you ask God for something, you ought to come with the right attitude, not haltingly; and you ought to thank Him for it in advance. Always come with thanksgiving. Didn't Paul say that in Philippians 4:6. When you pray, come with thanksgiving?

6. Pray in the Holy Ghost daily.
When you pray in the Holy Ghost, you're praying God's perfect will. People always quote Romans 8, verse 28, which reads about how all things work together for good of them that love God and called according to his purpose. Then they say, all things work together for my good. No, that is not what he said. Look at Romans 8:28:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Then they justify what is happening bad in their lives, and say God must be working it out for my good and God must have done it. Well, no. When the scripture starts with, "and we know...," you've got to back up.

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God" (v. 26-27).

When we pray in the Holy Ghost, we begin to pray the perfect will of God. The Spirit knows the mind of the Father. He then will help our infirmities. That word, help, means He will take hold together with us against our weakness, our inabilities and our lack of strength when we pray in the Holy Ghost.

All things don't work together for your good unless you're praying in the Holy Ghost, praying the wisdom of God. You have to pray in the Holy Ghost to have things.
