Mark chapter 4 explains how the kingdom of God functions as Jesus explained it to His disciples. Jesus explains to us that everything in the Kingdom works by the principle of seedtime and harvest. This process of life is still in operation today.

Those who have an understanding of it will be very successful and productive in the things of God. How do I know that this process is still the same today? Because the Bible very clearly says it is.

"While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease" (Gen. 8:22).

"While the earth remaineth...[it] shall not cease." This is still in effect today. It helps to know this so that you have an understanding of how it all works.

Many people sow, but as they do (or directly after), they want to help with the increase. Only God can bring the increase. The ground has an ability in it to bring forth the fruit of the seed. You don't have to help it grow.

The system of sowing in God's kingdom is similar. All we have to do is sow the right seed in the right place in the right way, and the spiritual ground will bring forth fruit of itself. It's a God-created process.

For everything under the sun, there is a season: a time to sow, a time to water, and a time to reap. Just like the natural year has seasons in it—winter, spring, summer, fall—so the spiritual realm has seasons of its own (not the same as natural, worldly ones but of supernatural timing of God).

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted..." (Eccl. 3:1-2).

Nobody sows seed without reaping in kind. The whole idea behind planting is growing a plant. The whole thing behind growing a plant is watching it bear fruit. The whole thing behind watching it bear fruit is harvesting that same fruit.

It's as sure as the Word of God—at least as long as the earth remains.
